Fine-Tipped Tapered Ball Nose, 1mm Radius — Precision for 3D Detail

Standard ball nose bits can't reach fine fillets and lettering. This 1mm radius tapered tip delivers exceptional accuracy on delicate features, with minimal material removal that reduces chipping risk on intricate work.

Solid carbide construction holds its edge through the slow, precise passes fine 3D detail demands.

What is a tapered ball nose used for?

3D carving, fine fillets and lettering. The 1mm radius tip reaches detail that standard ball nose bits can't.

What speeds and feeds should I use?

Start at 18,000 rpm, 100 ipm feed, 80 ipm plunge and a 7 to 10% stepover.

Why is the stepover so small?

Fine 3D detail calls for slow, precise passes. A 7 to 10% stepover removes minimal material per pass, which also reduces chipping risk on delicate work.

How does it compare with the 0.5mm version?

This one has a 1mm tip radius (2mm diameter). The Ultra Fine 0.5mm version is for your very tightest detail.

What are its dimensions?

1/4″ shank, 3″ overall length and 1.3″ cut length.
